Welcome to The Barstow School of Ghana. Founded in 1884 in Kansas City, Missouri, The Barstow School is recognized around the world for its rigorous, innovative college preparatory education.
Barstow students engage in innovative, hands-on learning. Students in Ghana can take advantage of many opportunities and programs available on our Accra campus. From early childhood education through high school, The Barstow School of Ghana offers students an unparalleled opportunity to explore the world locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Graduates of The Barstow School of Ghana will receive a U.S. diploma, internationally recognized for entrance into universities and colleges. Other certifications include AP, Pre-SAT and SAT Certificates. The school is governed by a Board of Trustees and overseen by President of The Barstow Schools, Shane Foster, and employs highly qualified local administrators and facilitators.

This is how I sum up the Barstow difference. We take kids out of the classroom and put them in the world. 
Our curriculum brings lessons to life — learning comes not just from books, but from real-life, project-based experiences. How do we do this? We admit curious, passionate learners. We attract and retain faculty who are much more than teachers. They are mentors, invested in the success of each individual student.

    The Barstow School became a nonprofit corporation overseen by a board of trustees after the retirement of founder Mary Louise Barstow in 1923.
